MUVE Appoints Thomas Sikkema as Community Team Lead in Michigan

Grand Rapids, MI – May 3, 2022 – MUVE, a leader in mobility solutions, announced today the appointment of Thomas Sikkema, BSN, RN, as its Community Team Lead in Michigan to provide local support as it rolls out its ‘Go MUVE’ accessible mobility app in Grand Rapids.
This comes on the heels of MUVE’s recent announcement of their partnership with the state of Michigan, with the launch of a new transportation ecosystem application redefining mobility for people of all abilities. See press release.
“Sikkema faced transportation challenges while dealing with cancer at a young age. He fully recovered and went on to become a registered nurse, further deepening his insights into the mobility needs of his community, so much so that he channeled this knowledge to become an entrepreneur in the field. Having lived the needs first-hand, he has a full grasp of our solutions,” said Peter Grande, co-Founder of MUVE.
“I know what it’s like to face uncertainty first-hand and I experienced the disability divide in mobility. The Go MUVE app makes getting around effortless. It takes the worry away and gives the user back their freedom. I am excited to be working with MUVE and to introduce the community, and people of all abilities, to this ground-breaking technology,” said Thomas Sikkema.
Tagging Feature
In addition to acting as Community Team Lead in Michigan, Sikkema will be responsible for promoting Go MUVE’s ‘tagging’ feature, enabling users to identify various levels of accessibility within their community. This feature allows users to tag events, businesses, facilities, and public areas by uploading crucial information related to mobility and accessibility.
