PR campaign will serve to further boost awareness about Toronto’s historic neighbourhood

Toronto, Ontario – March 27, 2019 – Zenergy Communications, an integrated marketing and communications agency, announces that it has been named the agency of record (AOR) by The Beach Village BIA, which operates along Queen Street East from Lockwood Road to Neville Park. The agency will work with the BIA over the coming months to develop and execute public relations strategies targeting key groups. The appointment comes after a competitive selection process that began last December.

The Beach Village BIA represents over 300 businesses and spearheads initiatives that aim to improve the business climate of the neighbourhood and further develop the widely celebrated Toronto community. It achieves these goals through strategic efforts, like the streetscape master plan it recently completed in conjunction with the City of Toronto and PLANT Architect Inc, as well as through the multiple events and marketing campaigns it organizes throughout the year that drive traffic and interest in the area.

“We’re proud of our efforts over the past several years in drawing people to the neighbourhood,” said Anna Sebert, the BIA’s Executive Director. “And now, with the completion of our streetscape master plan and our desire to elevate our marketing initiatives, we felt it was important to engage an external resource to support this next phase and that is why we partnered with Zenergy – an agency with a reputation for forward-thinking and strong media inroads.”

Zenergy, which celebrated its 15th anniversary last year, will undertake a series of strategic initiatives on the BIA’s behalf in accordance with streetscape projects, special events and seasonal activities. Additionally, the agency will be developing original content related to the wide range of activities conducive to The Beach Village, while emphasizing the member businesses that contribute to the areas overwhelmingly positive reputation.

“The Beach Village has played an integral role in Toronto’s history,” said Linda Farha, President and Founder of Zenergy Communications. “Our experience in bringing media attention to a broad range of properties and regions across multiple platforms will benefit the BIA as it works to continue to raise the area’s profile and communicate the region’s diverse offerings to Torontonians and visitors alike.”

The Beach Village Business Improvement Area (BIA) is one of 83 BIAs in the City of Toronto, with its official boundaries along Queen Street East from Lockwood Road to Neville Park Boulevard. The BIA represents over 300 businesses in the Beach community and is funded by a levy on commercial real estate.

The BIA works to promote economic development in the area through the improvement of public space, beautification and enhancement of the streetscape, coordination of events, and marketing of the area and our members. The initiatives of the BIA are carried out by the Board of Directors and Executive Director, with support from the City of Toronto, and the office of Brad Bradford.
